Villa Gioiosa - Description
Villa Gioiosa is a gracious 300-square-meter (about 3,229 square feet) villa
which sleeps six people. It features a private swimming pool, terraces, and a
garden with a fascinating view of the sea, the Vesuvius, and the Gulf of Naples.
It is equipped with air-conditioning, parking space, cleaning service and daily
linen change.
You will be 2 km (about 1.2 miles) from the center of Sorrento and 12 km (about
7.5 miles) away from Positano.
At Villa Gioiosa you will have two double bedrooms, a twin bedroom, three
bathrooms, a spacious living-room, a kitchen, large terraces, a swimming pool
and a garden.
The place
Villa Gioiosa is isolated and located on a prominent position on the slopes of a
hill which is covered in olive groves and close to the sea.
When in the garden and on the terraces, you will find yourself in front of a
fascinating panorama above the sea: right below you is the picturesque
promontory of the cape of Sorrento, which seems to plunge into the blue of the
sea with its verdant color due to the cultivation of olive and lemon trees. The
green is interrupted here and there by white dots which are the result of the
reflection of the sun on the walls of some country houses. Blue in the horizon
is the arch of the Gulf of Naples and the islands of Ischia and Procida.
By looking around, you will see a splendid and very well-cared for garden rich
in flowers: the air is clean and plant-scented, and the peacefulness is just
perfect: you will feel glad for having chosen Villa Gioiosa as your vacation
home!
You will be about 2 km (about 1.2 miles) away from the center of Sorrento, and
you will have all the tourist places and activities Sorrento has to offer near
at hand. You will also be only one km (about 0.6) away from the rocky beach of
the Cape of Sorrento, a protected area of great beauty famous for being a place
where the Sea Baths of the Queen Giovanna used to take place. Only two km (about
1.2 miles) away you will find the sandy beach of Marina di Puolo, an enchanting
fishermen’s village.
At 300 meters (about 984 feet) you will see the bus stop and the first shops and
bars. Having a car is not indispensable.
The garden…
Villa Gioiosa is surrounded by a 1000-square-meter (about 10,764 square feet)
garden distributed on several levels. The garden lies before the sun and the
scenery. The garden is fenced-in, really well-cared for, lush and abundant in
flowers and trees, with hydrangeas, roses, geraniums, olives….
At road level you will find a spacious parking space shaded by a pergola.
Once the car has been parked and you have climbed down about 8 steps, you will
find yourself in the garden. You will notice that you will be able to enjoy a
splendid view of the sea from every angle of the garden.
In front of the entrance to the villa, you will find a spacious portico under
which there is large table with chairs which is perfect for meals outdoors
amidst the flowers and facing the sea. A large green lawn lies before the ground
floor of the villa: on the lawn you will find a large umbrella and several deck
chairs facing the sea scenery.
……and the swimming-pool
A small stone stairway of about twenty steps framed by lush bushes of hydrangeas
will lead you to the lower level of the garden, which is also like a large
terrace overlooking the sea and the sun. You will find a beautiful swimming-pool
with a sinuous shape surrounded by a sun-drenched area furnished with several
wrought-iron deck chairs. Near the swimming pool there is a gazebo shaded by a
white awning under which you will have a table and chairs. The swimming pool
area is furnished with a small bar and a bathroom with shower.
The swimming pool is 13 x 5 meters (about 43 x 16.4 feet) large and from 1,20 to
1,80 meters (about 3.9 to 5.9 feet) deep. The swimming pool also features a
whirlpool area. The pool is available all year round.
The barbecue and the wood-fired oven
An area of the garden placed next to the kitchen features a barbecue and a
wood-fired oven ideal for pizzas. If you wish, under the guide of a true pizza
chef from Sorrento, you will have fun preparing your own pizzas!
The terraces
At Villa Gioiosa you will have two large terraces which lie before the two
floors of the villa. From every angle of the terraces, you will be able to
admire a spectacular panorama of the hills of Sorrento and the Gulf of Naples.
The house
The ground floor
Villa Gioiosa is a two-storey white house with terraces on each floor facing the
sea and the sun. It is isolated and surrounded by the green of the garden and
the land cultivated with olive groves and lemon trees all around.
On the ground floor you will have a large living-room featuring two patio doors
which open to a large terrace and allows you to see the sea even from the
inside. The living-room is divided in two areas. While in one area you will find
couches, armchairs, a beautiful fireplace, a space for the computer and the
satellite-dish TV, in the other, you will have a dining table.
On the ground floor, you will also have a spacious kitchen well equipped with
electric appliances. You will have a four-burner stove, an oven, a microwave
oven, a large fridge with freezer, a dishwasher, a washing machine, and small
appliances.
A patio door will allow you to move from the kitchen to an area of the garden
where you will find the barbecue and the wood-fired oven to prepare pizzas.
The upper floor
An indoor staircase communicates the ground floor to the upper floor, where you
will have the three bedrooms and the three bathrooms. The three bedrooms are all
spacious and bright, and each features a patio door communicating with the
terrace overlooking the sea. In one room you will have two single beds whereas
in the other two you will have double beds. The two double bedrooms have their own bathroom, one with bathtub and one with shower. The third bathroom is equipped with a shower.
The terrace which lies in front of the bedrooms is partially shaded by a pergola
and embellished with flower boxes and a long masonry bench. Under the pergola
you will find a table and little armchairs: the perfect place to sit down and
relax while enjoying the stars and the lights of the Gulf of Naples maybe with a
glass of wine in hand before going to bed……..
At Villa Gioiosa you will spend your vacation in an elegant and fine place. You
will have beautiful antique furniture and art objects around which you will feel
pleased to watch.
